Who We Are

Foster Angels of South Texas offers foster children what they need most at just the right moment-their moment of need. That moment of need for children in foster care is not next week or next month. It’s today, right now. And at Foster Angels, we believe it’s that one moment of caring, given at just the right time that often translates into a lifetime of difference.

We are located in Corpus Christi, Texas and serve the foster children in South Texas. Last year, there were over 3,900 children in foster care in Region 11. Our philosophy is that foster children must be exposed to positive influences, activities and experiences that help them to flourish and reach their full potential. We help provide enriching experiences that will shape a child’s life and most of all, their future.

Foster Angels works very closely with a number of agencies in our community to obtain information regarding the various needs of our community’s foster children, including Child Protective Services (CPS), Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), and BCFS.  We collaborate with these and other philanthropic organizations to share the responsibility of assisting foster children and distributing funds where needed.

Caseworkers deal with the desperate needs of our foster children day after day and know how much these children need that the state cannot pay for. These caseworkers submit requests to us for assistance on a regular basis, as Foster Angels is able to provide foster children with the things they need when all other resources have been exhausted. We provide funds for clothing, education, food, medical needs and events in the children’s lives which build self-esteem and community. For example, we provide funds for a child to have a birthday party or to purchase sports equipment or to buy a prom dress or to attend summer camp. These children wholly depend on agency resources for their survival, and when those means are no longer available, they can turn to us.

One outstanding fact about Foster Angels is our dedication to keep our administrative costs to a minimum. This way, our funds can help the children directly, as our objective is to put the money to work directly for them. All of the funding we receive remains in our community. In other words, we use all of our money to benefit the South Texas area exclusively.
